Fun with Mark & Brie!
Sorry for the belated update. Apparently blogger hates me and my many pics. But here it is, what Mark and I have been up to for the past ten days!

Last Tuesday I awoke at 4:15 am to meet Mark at the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

But his plane got in 50 mins early so he was waiting for me when I got there.

Like all amazing boyfriends, Mark brought me presents!

My new Oakley Dart sunglasses.

Mark also brought his new digital camera with him, which I am planning to steal before he goes back to Canada. So far we have done a lot of shopping and sight seeing. We've also had time to check out the Sex Museum on Wednesday.

Mark quickly realized that Diemen is just as fun as Amsterdam, and is now also a fan
of "the Crib".
So we went for a steak dinner with Vinny and Dan on Thursday.

Sanna met up with us later, followed by Salla, Jenny and Johan.

On Friday, we managed to keep the partying costs to a minium by hanging out in the kitchen in the Blue Building, floor 10.

Saturday was the best day by far. Mark and I took the tram to the Heineken Museum.

It was also our five year anniversary.

To celebrate we booked a dinner cruise through the Amsterdam canals.

On Sunday, Linda made us all an Italian dinner, her grandmother's recipie, with lots of garlic.

We had to steal the table from Dan's kitchen so there would be room for all 13 of us.

Dinner was so good that I forgot to keep taking pictures. . .

The rest of the week Mark, Dan and I have been shopping more and seeking out new cool places in the city.

We found this boat.

And I found a new labret for myself.
(Labret is the name of the jewlrey used for my piercing)

So far it's been a blast with Mark here! But GOTT Amsterdam is still to come, along with our trip to Scotland next week!!

We're busy.
Friday afternoon Linda and I headed over to the Diemen Shopping Centre for some makeover fun!! Linda, being the savvy fashionista she is, found out that a stylist from Chanel was doing free makeovers. She signed us up right away.

We arrived at the mall fresh-faced and ready for action!

Like Linda, our stylist was from Germany. He is super talented and not only a stylist, also a model. Currently he is on the cover of one of Holland’s hottest mags, posing as Andy Warhol. We loved our makeovers so I treated myself to a Chanel mascara!

Hot stuff!

Friday evening Jana (also a fellow fashionista from Germany) joined Dan and I at the Diemen fair. Everyone else thought we were really lame for going. Whatever, we had fun!

We went on the Ferris-wheel and The Octopus.

The rest of the evening was spent in my apartment drinking wine and trying to figure out how much Dutch we’ve actually learned so far. Jana also taught us some German. The best word came up while we were discussing tattoos we want and/or have. Arschgeweih refers to the lower back tattoo that almost every girl around the world has right now. If you translate it into English, it means "ass antlers." Dan and I decided that we had to bring this one back to Canada.

By the time Sunday rolled around, Dan and I decided it would be a good idea to hit up the local Deimen bar. It's called 't Pandje, which is a slang term for 'house' in Dutch.

We just call it The Crib.

Dan and I quickly became lonely so we decided to head over to Mulligans, a rockn' Irish Pub that hosts live Irish music every Sunday night. Linda and her best friend Julia and her boyfriend Daniel decided to join us.

Heidi is from Finland and a fellow exchange student. Vinnie lives on Heidi and Linda's floor in the blue building. She is currently doing an intership in Amsterdam at a Walk-in Rehab Centre. Vinnie is originally from Copenhagen.

We're a busy crew.

To satisfy your photo cravings. . .
The Diemen bridge.

This is the road we take to school.

Same road, another part of the university.

Views from one of our favourite resturants . . . so far.

Dan's view. He is on the 15th floor.

Can you count the sheep?

That's right, we can see the ocean.

Random city shot.

Rembrandtplein, a hot spot for clubs and bars.

There is also a commemorative statue in the park across the street.
